Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving 31st Annual Summit
For 31 years, the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving has supported the family, volunteer, and professional caregivers through efforts of advocacy, education, research, and service. We believe it is empowering to not only be educated on the issues surrounding caregivers, but it is also extremely important for caregivers to get help, take care of themselves, know how to plan for the future and have their voices heard. This one day conference will explore ways to empower caregivers who are caring for others with diverse chronic illnesses and disability across the lifespan. Our audience of family and professional caregivers, service providers, and volunteers will hear from experts on topics that are on every caregiver's mind. The Gala Awards Banquet on Friday evening will be complete with a formal dinner and the announcement of our Caregivers of the Year, the Mattie J.T. Stepanek scholarship winners, and the Rosalynn Carter Leadership in Caregiving Award. Seating is limited for ALL Summit events - seats are on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is MANDATORY for ALL events. Attendees MUST register through EventBrite if planning to attend any of the Summit events. We hope you'll join us for this celebration of Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter's vision! FAQs What are my transportation options for getting to and from the event? We will provide a shuttle bus for hotel guests to and from Networking Reception and Gala Dinner events. The in-town bus schedule will be sent to you via email prior to your arrival. If you opt to drive a rental car down instead, you will still be able to take the in-town shuttle back and forth to events if you desire. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THIS OPTION. Where can I stay? The shuttle bus will only pick up and drop off at these locations. Windsor Hotel Hampton Inn Days Inn Econo Lodge What about food? RCI will be providing heavy hors d’oeuvre during Thursday’s networking reception, breakfast buffet Friday morning, lunch Friday afternoon, and dinner during Friday’s gala. We feel that our menu accommodates for most dietary restrictions. However, if you have dietary restrictions you are worried the menu won’t accommodate, please contact us for more information. These food options are also available while visiting the Americus area. What should I wear? All summit events are business casual and the Gala Awards Banquet is black tie optional. Do I need to print and bring my tickets? No, your name will be on our registration list. What's the refund policy? If you find that you are unable to attend after purchasing tickets, you will be fully reimbursed up to 7 days before the event. Will I receive CEUs for attending? No. However, we do offer contact hours from Georgia Southwestern State University awarded through a certificate of participation. You will receive contact hours for attending Friday's summit. Will there be opportunities for networking? Absolutely! You can catch up with others at the Networking Reception on Thursday evening, during lunch at Friday's summit and cocktails before the Gala Awards Banquet begins on Friday evening.
